No fewer than ten people lost their lives in two separate accidents which occurred in Ajowa Akoko in the Akoko North Local Government Area of Ondo state and at Akure, the state capital,It was gathered that the crash occurred following the recklessness of the drivers of the two vehicles which left several others injured. Another six people died in Ajowa Akoko in another lone accident that involved a Benue state bound bus coming from Ogbomosho town in Oyo state. According to an eye witness, who said the residents of the community were attracted by the noise of the accident in the early hour of Thursday morning. He, however, said the injured were rushed to the hospital by men of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) from the Ikare unitThe Ondo state Sector Commander of the FRSC, Mr Rotimi Adeleye, also attributed the accident to the recklessness of the driver and the night journey. He said the driver might also be tired, due to his sleeplessness and because one cannot cheat nature, it can cause accident especially while over speeding in the sharp corner close to the bridge.
