'Terrible traffic' in Derby suburb could get even worse if plans for 1,200 homes are approvedHundreds of new homes may be coming to Spondon - which is said to be already 'stretched'View Image Traffic in Spondon has been described as 'terrible' - but hundreds of more homes are planned (Image: Derbyshire Live)There are fears that “terrible” traffic in a Derby suburb could get worse with proposals for almost 1,200 new homes in the area. ‌Developer Bloor Homes has written to Derby City Council outlining its intention to build up to 240 homes on land off Locko Road, in Spondon. ‌It comes just days after Keepmoat Homes submitted plans to build up to 200 homes on the Spondon side of Acorn Way, near Derby Road. ‌In addition, 90 homes were approved at Royal Hill Road following a planning inquiry almost a year ago. ‌There have also been reports that the suburb is already hit with traffic problems, with congestion described as “terrible”.
