Tesla Inc. delivered a record number of cars in the third quarter, but faces the pressure of topping that number in the next three months to meet its full-year target. The Silicon Valley car maker on Wednesday said it delivered 97,000 vehicles in the quarter ended Sept. 30. That topped the 95,200 cars customers received during the second quarter. But the latest figure fell short of the 99,000 deliveries that analysts surveyed by FactSet expected, even as it marked a 16% jump from the year-ago period.
