Texas construction company to pay $3M after hiring illegal immigrants, hiding their employment: ICE

According to an ICE statement, Speed Fab Crete terminated illegal immigrant employees only to rehire many of them through a temporary staffing company. Earlier this month, company co-owners Ronald Alan Hamm and David Leon Bloxom and company CFO Robert Edwin James pleaded guilty to misdemeanor unlawful employment of illegal aliens. A third co-owner of the company, Carl Eugene Hall, pleaded guilty to felony conspiracy to unlawfully harbor illegal aliens. Mark Sevier, the owner of the temp agency, also pleaded guilty to the same offense as Hall. The company also agreed to use E-verify, not to violate immigration laws, and to discipline those who tried hiring illegal workers.
