Thai personnel inspected the scene of the explosion and found fragments of a new PMN-2 anti-personnel landmine. The incident was the latest of eight recent instances of Thai military officers losing a foot to Cambodian landmines. A Chinese national was also hurt by a Cambodian landmine planted along the Thai-Cambodian border.
