Thailand holds LNG talks with US producer

(Photo: Ministry of Energy)Thai officials have held talks with a leading US liquefied natural gas (LNG) producer to increase supply to Thailand and accelerate delivery schedules, in a move aimed at mitigating potential energy disruptions stemming from tensions in the Middle East. The move is intended to cushion Thailand against potential supply disruptions if the conflict in the Middle East continues. Cheniere Energy promised it would make its best efforts to expedite the deliveries, said Mr Atthapol. “We would like to assure the public that Thailand will be able to navigate this crisis together,” said Mr Atthapol. Earlier, PTT received its first LNG cargo from the US under the long-term supply agreement with Cheniere Energy on Jan 28 this year.
