(CNN) It's National Teacher Appreciation Week, and there's rarely been a more important time to be grateful for their hard work . CNN Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta highlights some teachers' struggles and most creative adaptations to teaching during a pandemic. Gupta: That's Chris Dier, 2020 Louisiana Teacher of the Year and the finalist for 2020 National Teacher of the Year. Gupta: But his middle school students at Albuquerque Academy in New Mexico have come around. I watch them get educated by teachers online, I watch the patience of those teachers and I watch my kids blossom and grow.
