Kiyoshi Kimura will serve the fish at his sushi restaurants KYODO NEWSA self-proclaimed “sushi king” paid £1.37 million for a giant blue-fin tuna at Tokyo’s main fish market today. Kiyoshi Kimura handed over the second-highest amount ever paid for a giant tuna since 1999, when records began. He already holds that particular record, having paid £2.4 million for a tuna fish last year. “This is the best,” he said as he surveyed his latest 276kg (608lb) prize after the annual new year auction.
