For the first time in more than a year, a North Atlantic right whale calf has been spotted. At first I thought it was a fin and I was like, 'That doesn't look right. Declining numbersThe dismal news is that the number of North Atlantic right whale calves has dropped in recent years, and several adults were found dead in 2017. Canada implemented new measures to try to protect right whales after 12 were reported dead in Canadian waters in 2017, along with another five in U.S. waters.
