Roca is part a public health response to violence within this age group, an approach that isn’t new nationally or in Baltimore. Timpson, a Baltimore native, and a large figure in violence interruption, came to Roca from Safe Streets, giving the program credibility. “These guys are earning $7,500 a day on that corner,” West said, pointing to a hot drug corner in West Baltimore.
