The Big Read: Three things to know about NZ's big Covid 19 vaccine roll-out


New Zealand is likely to have enough doses of a vaccine for at least 750,000 people early to mid next year. The Ministry of Health is developing a Covid-19 immunisation programme in New Zealand, for roll out if and when a safe and effective vaccine becomes available. The WHO announced that both China and South Korea had now joined the COVAX, the goal being to promote equitable distribution of COVID-19 vaccines globally. Associate Professor Nikki Turner - director of the Immunisation Advisory Centre at the University of Auckland - expects the vaccine roll-out to be a staged process. The Advertising Standards Authority has already upheld one complaint - against Advance NZ and the New Zealand Public Party - for making false claims about "mandatory" Covid-19 vaccines.
