Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett, who stars on ITV’s The Chase, said he finds it hard to land TV work because he’s a white, middle-aged man. The 54-year-old TV personality admitted that there are too many quiz presenters in his demographic, and even might be forced to return to teaching instead of working for the ITV show. Speaking to The Sun, the former maths teacher pointed out that he’s less likely to land further TV roles as opposed to co-hosts. “I’ve got a slight disadvantage because TV has too many white middle-aged quiz presenters” he told the publication.
