Iran is Shiite Muslim; Egypt is Sunni Muslim. In other words, there is plenty of history and bad blood working against any alignment between Iran and Egypt. Why do we say that this alliance between Egypt and Iran will be so strong, in fact, that Egypt will actually stand with Iran even when it fatally clashes with another superpower? … He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape. Today, the signs of a coming alliance between Iran and Egypt are beginning to emerge.
