And here's the thing: Tomb Raider was really good. "Best video game movie" is a fairly low bar, but I genuinely enjoyed Tomb Raider as a movie---not just as a video game movie. But as a leaping off point, Tomb Raider is a solid beginning for new and old fans alike. You should go watch it, especially if you're a fan of the video game series---but even if you've never played a video game before in your life.
