The Debt Rating: Director: Barney Elliott Writing Credit: Barney Elliott Cast: Stephen Dorff, David Strathairn, Alberto Ammann, Elsa Olivero Rated: Not rated, but features matures themes and some language. The result is well meaning, well shot (especially the rural scenes) and well acted (you can’t go wrong with David Strathairn), but ultimately a dramatic disappointment. The overarching plot, about buying and selling land in Peru, remains fuzzy at best, while the narrative momentum too often relies on easy coincidence. With its interlocking storylines and international cast, this first film from writer/director Barney Elliott seems to be trying for a Crash/Babel/Traffic vibe. Genre: Drama Duration: 99 minutes Synopsis: Interlocking stories revolve around land development in Peru.
