Some people say wind turbines are too tall, too loud and built too close to homes. The Wind Tree, from a French startup, is more beauty than behemoth. Wind Trees have multicolored green "Aeroleafs" on their branches, which are small, vertical-axis wind turbines. The Wind Tree is a steel structure that stands 9.8 meters high (about 32 feet) and 7.2 meters wide (23.6 feet), according to a data sheet. Then again, they also have "perfect acceptability," as noted at a recent International Summit for Change in Paris which featured the Wind Tree and other innovations.
