Talking with Nikkei, Furukawa was asked how Nintendo would innovate in future, in light of all their major past successes, his answer was an interesting and thoughtful one. At the moment we're offering the uniquely developed Nintendo Switch and its software – and that's what we're basing how we deliver the “Nintendo experience” on. Naturally, Furukawa is not saying that Nintendo will drop consoles any time soon after all the Switch continues to sell incredibly well across the world. After all, Nintendo makes mobile games now and that’s simply the company adapting to how gaming is evolving. Whatever technology the future may bring, Nintendo needs to adapt to that.
