SEOUL — South Korea’s version of Thanksgiving, where millions crisscross the country to see their families, has gotten a pandemic complication. That advice was enthusiastically embraced by some of South Korea’s 52 million residents. Kim Jin-seo, 37, of Seoul, was thrilled when government officials advised against Chuseok travel. She had quit her job early this year and was worried her in-laws, about 220 miles away, would ask about her job search. “This might be the first Chuseok I get to rest in the five years I’ve been married,” Ms. Kim says.
