The European handball federation has postponed two women’s European championship matches scheduled in France’s western city of Nantes because of Saturday’s anti-government protests. Unions representing French truckers have called off strike action following “a constructive meeting” with Transport Minister Elisabeth Borne. Drastic security measures will put a lockdown on downtown Paris on Saturday as French authorities try to prevent another outbreak of violence during anti-government protests.
