Adapted by David Greig. Until Jan. 21 at the Princess of Wales Theatre, 300 King St. W. mirvish.com or 416-872-1212London, England’s Old Vic theatre premiered this stage adaptation of Dr. Seuss’s 1972 plea for environmental protection, The Lorax, in 2015. Adapted by David Greig. Paisley Day gives the Once-ler a strong sympathetic streak and a childlike innocence, even when he’s trying to fool the media or cheat on an environmental impact survey. His actions are never purely driven by economic greed, making it easy for audiences to see themselves in him.
