The latest CFO Global Signals report finds CFOs expressing largely positive outlooks about the economy, their own companies’ prospects, and other business metrics. Net optimism scores improved in 17 of the 21 countries or regions participating, in some cases reaching new highs. Patricia Buckley, managing director, Economic Policy and Analysis, Deloitte Services LP, believes that the improvement in optimism, particularly in North America, owes much to the fact “that the underlying fundamentals of the U.S. economy are in good shape.” Other members of the Deloitte Global Economist Network point to the strength of the European economy as another source of increasingly positive outlooks.
