The New York Times Op-Docs, the Academy Award-winning distributor behind The Queen of Basketball and other award-winning shorts, debuted the documentary short film Island in Between from director S. Leo Chiang today on The New York Times. The film had its world premiere at the Hawaii International Film Festival and screened at SFFILM Doc Stories 2023. It is a contender for the 2024 Academy Awards in the Best Documentary Short category.
