Except, the Sussexes were likely getting paid for it, and it had nothing to do with anything in or about the prince's family, their patronages, or even much to do with Britain. It's considered a very tidy first blow out of the starting blocks, the rumored $500,000-to-$1 million in speaking fees that Prince Harry could conceivably have pulled in for such an evening. The speech was, apparently, very heart-on-his-sleeve Harry: Detailing, among other things, his own mental health problems, his years of psychotherapy, his grief at his mother's death, and his withdrawal from royal duties. It advances the core tenet of the Sussex narrative that Prince Harry had no other choice. Boom: Now there are at least 400-odd JP Morgan executives and well-shod clients who can claim a connection to the Sussexes.
