The group said it had also lost its access to ransom payments from hacking victims, as authorities had seized its cryptocurrency accounts. On Thursday, President Joe Biden said the Colonial Pipeline hackers appeared to be based in Russia, but were not employed by the Russian government. Babuk, another ransomware group, claimed to have leaked 250GB of data from Washington D.C.’s Metropolitan Police Department on Thursday, including personal information on informers and officers.
