Mark Sheehan, the guitarist for the Irish rock band the Script, died at age 46. Mark Sheehan, who co-founded Irish rock band the Script and served as its guitarist, has died, the group announced Friday on social media. “Much loved husband, father, brother, band mate and friend Mark Sheehan passed away today in hospital after a brief illness,” the Script posted on Twitter and Instagram. “A hugely talented songwriter, guitarist and founder member of The Script, one of Ireland’s greatest bands,” Sony wrote of Sheehan. In a statement released Friday Irish President Michael D. Higgins paid tribute to Sheehan and his role in the Script.
