The Tasman tempest isn't over yet: More rain, up to 140mm, possible in soaked upper-North IslandBayley Moor/ Fairfax NZ Rainbow Falls are normally relatively docile. MetService has issued heavy rain warnings for the areas in the upper-North Island through to Saturday, as well as for northwest Nelson. Heavy rain is also expected to hit northwest Nelson overnight. The heavy rain was expected to pick back up during the day until it eased on Saturday morning. Thunderstorms during the past couple of days have brought a cluster of lightning strikes over the North Island.
