Ján Kubis, the UN Envoy for Libya, today called for a phased departure of all foreign soldiers and mercenaries from Libya, under the supervision of the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL). He emphasized the importance of maintaining the arms embargo, noting that Libya’s armed organizations pose a security concern beyond the country’s boundaries. During a joint press conference with Mangoush, Hood reaffirmed his country’s support for the GNU in holding free and fair elections, while denouncing the presence of armed groups and foreign forces in Libya.
