Since his inauguration in early 2021, President Biden has had a patchy record undoing the controversial refugee policies of President Trump. Those responsible for refugee resettlement under the new administration are still struggling to recover the lost capacity. The report recommends the U.S. support "Disaster risk reduction" (DDR) capacity building in countries threatened by climate disasters. In short, they're saying the U.S. should help less well-off countries withstand climate events. There still remains that concern about doom-saying over the millions, or perhaps billions, of "climate refugees" we might see in the next few decades.
