Visit a national park or forest for free on National Public Lands DayThe salute to our much-loved public lands has been held the fourth Saturday in September every year since 1994 (this year it’s Sept. 26). Everyone still receives free entry to national parks, which means skipping the $25 to $30 entry fee at Joshua Tree, Death Valley and other public lands that charge fees.
