They announced this on June 13, or two weeks before the initial release date and just 11 days before the new one. The 2019 schedule specifically is insanely crowded with a near-weekly barrage of flicks that once-upon-a-time would have the season's outright event movie. But the notion of no longer being as explicitly tied to a release date may be the best side effect.
