While direct instruction is considered as teacher-oriented, with the teacher as the main actor, indirect instruction is learner-centered. Other terms for indirect instruction strategy used interchangeably are "inquiry, induction, problem solving, decision making and discovery." These are drawn in the teaching process by making the most of learners' interest and curiosity via the indirect instruction strategy. The indirect instruction strategy and attendant teaching methods would require our practice-teaching/education students a repertoire of instructional skills to achieve optimum learning using indirect instruction. Teaching methods appropriate to indirect instruction strategy can better ensure learning outcomes through using teaching skills.
