One of the most repeated British comedy sketches of all-time - which most Britons have never heard of - is finally going to be broadcast in the UK. Dinner for One, a 15-minute sketch by Grimsby comedian Freddie Frinton, has achieved cult status in Germany and Scandinavian countries. Dinner for One centres on a 90th birthday of an English woman called Miss Sophie, who hosts a dinner party for four guests, aided by her butler James. Playing the missing character, James drinks their drinks across the four courses and becomes increasingly drunk. Frinton was a Grimsby fishmonger turned music hall entertainer who encorporated the sketch into his act in the 1940s.
