I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to consult the original version of the Kinks book. And he was, in fact, a bit of a mentor to me with research, specifically with the Monkees book. When my Monkees book came out, he told me he was impressed and that he’d like to do something like this with the Kinks book. He created the Kinks in his mind, and he created everything around the Kinks.
