Prime Minister Boris Johnson made the announcement as he confirmed the Government is relaxing the two-metre social distancing rule to "one metre plus" in England. It is likely to be welcome news for England's theme parks which have been forced to stay shut through spring and the opening of the busy summer season. Outdoor playgrounds and gyms, funfairs, anusement arcades and other indoor leisure centres and facilities, including indoor gaming, social clubs, model villages and indoor attractions at aquariums and zoos, will be allowed to reopen. Mr Johnson acknowledged that the two-metre rule "effectively makes life impossible for large parts of our economy even without other restrictions".
