I just wanted to find my normal again, without bloody “happy pills”. I don’t accept GPs are pushing them on patients who don’t need them. (Image: Getty Images)But I DO believe that chronically ­underfunded NHS mental health services mean pills are the only help many people receive. The Royal College of Psychiatrists says this “finally puts to bed the controversy.”But I wish it would stop people judging, belittling and stigmatising those of us who need antidepressants – like I used to.
