Theresa May rakes in £400,000 for speeches after stepping down as PM over Brexit


Mrs May declared in her register of interests that she'd been paid a £190,000 'signing bonus' after securing a deal with the Washington Speakers Bureau. She was also paid £100,000 plus expenses from bankers UBS Switzerland AG, to give a keynote speech at a conference. Fellow ex-PM David Cameron netted a profit of £836,168 last year, according to new accounts filed with Companies House. Mr Cameron is not a director of the business, according to Companies House, although he is listed as the owner. Following his resignation, it was reported that the former prime minister could charge as much as £120,000 per speech.
