That day, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, presenting his 5th Government Report, announced that the hydrocarbon refining process at the Dos Bocas Refinery will begin as planned on September 1st. In this sense, López Obrador said that this work, coordinated by Energy Minister Rocío Nahle, was completed on time and the start-up phases are complete for the time being. And by the end of the year, this refinery will produce an average of 290,000 barrels of gasoline per day,” said López Obrador. López Obrador compared that at the end of 2018 alone only 1 million 700,000 barrels per day were being produced, while it is currently 1 million 900,000 barrels per day. Referring to those achievements, AMLO said it expects to process all of the country’s crude oil by 2024.
