PETALING JAYA: Third time’s certainly a charm for up-and-coming shuttler Eogene Ewe as he made it to Group A (top division) of the National Junior Ranking Challenge. The 16-year-old earned his promotion after winning the boys’ singles Group A-B playoffs at the Academy Badminton Malaysia yesterday. Jeng Hon and Dylan, the bottom two in Group A, were pitted against Group B champion Eogene and runner-up Anson in the two-day playoffs. “Last November, I missed out after finishing third in the playoffs.”Earlier, Eogene stamped his class by winning Group B with relative ease. 8 Fazriq Razif in the coming Challenge and stand a chance to compete in two major events of the year – the Asian Junior Championships and World Junior Championships.
