Virtually every company conducts employee engagement surveys. But the research shows that only 22% of companies are getting good results from their employee engagement surveys. Why are so few employee engagement surveys generating good results? Because most companies have the mistaken belief that the purpose of an employee engagement survey is to measure employee engagement. So, to sum up, an employee engagement survey isn’t an exercise conducted ‘out of curiosity.’ An employee engagement survey implies a promise that you’re going to take action on whatever suggestions emerge.
