After all, since losing to Orlando Salido in just his second pro fight, Lomachenko (8-1, 6 KOs) has dominated everyone he’s faced, including world-class opponents like Gary Russell Jr. and Nicholas Walters. But Lomachenko isn’t immortal. 1) Lomachenko overlooks his opponent: It’d be easy for him to do so, especially since Marriaga isn’t well known and shouldn’t pose many problems for Lomachenko. 2) Marriaga has power: Lomachenko has proven that he has a good chin and that he doesn’t get hit flush very often. Now, he’ll have to try to transfer that kind of power against Lomachenko at 130 pounds.
