In Corked, Borel recounts her attempts to bond with her aging, wine-aficionado father, Philippe Borel, during a road trip through the French wine country. The trip was spurred, in part, by a car crash in which she accidentally killed an elderly man who had been jaywalking. In addition to being a founding producer at Q, Borel has written for a number of publications, including a column titled Indignities, for the National Post, in 2008-2009, and a food column for Eye Weekly. She is also an editor at The Believer, a literary, arts and culture magazine. “It seemed like the clearest path to the truth,” she told reporters.
