Players from the Atlanta Dream wore shirts endorsing a political opponent (Raphael Warnock) of team co-owner and Georgia Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler. Loeffler had been critical of Black Lives Matter; many of the players endorse the movement. The WNBA players and fans are simply on a different political planet than Loeffler. The WNBA players have long been on the front stage of social justice. WNBA players were kneeling and wearing Black Lives Matter apparel long before this season.
