In May, CNN reported the Labor Department found three companies, which own more than 60 McDonald's restaurants in four states, employed 305 children, including two 10-year-olds. The three companies face a fine of more than $200,000 for breaking child labor laws, the CNN report said. The maximum civil monetary penalty under current U.S. law for a child labor violation is $15,138 per child.
