KOTA KINABALU: One DAP and two PKR assemblymen in Sabah have left their parties as a serious push for local-based parties sweeps through the state. PKR lost Klias assemblymen and its state chairman Datuk Lajim Ukin and Moyog state representative Terrence Siambun while DAP lost its Likas assemblyman Junz Wong. PKR also lost 70% of its 35-member state committee who also quit the party, while Sabah DAP lost six of its 20 state committee members who followed Wong. He said the irony was that the leaders who have quit PKR and DAP were the same people who had, at one time, called the national parties the saviours of Sabah. By quitting, these leaders essentially are saying that PKR and DAP are useless parties,” he said in a statement yesterday, adding that Sabah Barisan would emerge stronger from the exodus.
