ALOR STAR: A police inspector and two lance corporals have been remanded for five days for allegedly soliciting bribes from a suspect in a drug case. The remand order was issued by a Sungai Petani Magistrate's Court on Wednesday (June 23). Court Registrar Mohammad Alif Abdul Aziz granted the remand order under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code to allow MACC to investigate further. State MACC director Datuk Shaharom Nizam Abd Manap confirmed the arrests in a statement and said the remand order is until Sunday (June 27). “They were remanded to assist investigations under Section 17(a) of the MACC Act 2009,” he said.
