Three dead, 10 injured as buses collide on NH 75


more-inThree people died and more than 10 were injured in a collision between two buses near Heddurga village on National Highway 75 in Alur taluk on Tuesday morning. The deceased have been identified as Fathima, 27, of Kasaragod in Kerala, Yashoda, 42, of Adi Udupi in Udupi district, and Kartik Reddy, 30, of Bengaluru. The KSRTC bus, heading towards Bengaluru from Udupi, collided with a private bus travelling towards Mangaluru at around 3 a.m. The Alur police, with the help of locals, took the injured to the nearest hospitals. According to Dinakar, driver of the KSRTC bus, rash and negligent driving of the private bus driver was the cause of the accident.
