The trio were arrested during Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) drives in the capital’s Motijheel and Gulshan area between Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning. On Tuesday, RAB Director General Benazir Ahmed at a press briefing had disclosed the trio’s arrest and recovery of the money following the elite force’s drives. RAB had raided United Corporation at first, and arrested Haider while seizing Tk8 crore in cash and Tk10 crore in cheques from there. He said the huge amount of money was sent from Dubai to Bangladesh via hundi. Apu is also a former assistant personal secretary of acting BNP chief Tarique Rahman, who currently lives in London.
