A fifth-grader in Narayanganj’s Bandar Upazila has been abducted and strangled to death after she screamed while resisting an attempted rape, police say. Bandar Police chief Golam Muktar Ashraf said one of the three arrested suspects gave a confessional statement under Section 164 on Wednesday. The arrested men have been identified with the single names Faisal, alias Badsha, 29, Ismail, 40, and Emon, 25. Officer Ashraf said Faisal confessed to the incident, saying the child was abducted from a road outside her home and taken to a room, where the suspects attempted to rape her. “All three arrested men are drug users and were directly involved in the killing,” Ashraf added.
