Footage of the incident shows a gang of a dozen of people walking through the park towards a group of friends. The thugs surround the friends who are having a picnic, then start shouting at them and attacking them. A clip, which was widely shared on social media, shows a man wearing a white shirt and a brown jacket spitting at a woman. Six officers suffered minor injuries after "pockets of violence" were directed towards the Metropolitan Police during the far-right protests in central London, the force said. Activists wearing black clothes and masks and holding signs held a silent protest on the seafront.
