Heavy downpours and marble-sized hail are possible Monday afternoon as a line of thunderstorms sweep across southern Ontario. Environment Canada issued a special weather statement early Monday afternoon warning of high winds and thunderstorms. There could be wind gusts up to 80 km/h, "pea to marble-sized hail" and lightning, the statement said. "Heavy downpours suddenly reducing visibility to less than one kilometre are also possible," it said. The storms are expected to move northeast out of the region by mid-afternoon.
